Project Thornton Heat

Project Thornton Heat / 49 sqm - one bedroom flat, Croydon This back-to-brick project required a total demolition - we only kept the four walls and the outside of the roof. We fitted a beautiful kitchen; which brings a soft pop of colour with its sage green paint; with a handy breakfast bar. We also fitted a small electric water heater for the kitchen to ensure a perfect temperature and pressure when the kitchen and bathroom are being used at the same time. We created a new bathroom with a shower bath, suspended toilet, sink, mirror with side lights, extractor fan, electric shower, and quality oak pocket door to save space. To ensure the best use of the space, we rearranged the space upstairs for the bathroom, the bedroom, and the kitchen/living room. We used the lower section of the room to create storage space and space for the office desk just under the big velux, providing a bright working corner. We used our best techniques to ensure a perfectly insulated floor: we pulled up the old floor, levelled it out, laid sound insulation, closed back the floor with new floorboards, laid soundproof underlay, and fitted this high-quality engineered wood oak floor. In the attic, we laid floorboards, installed an attic hatch with a ladder, and a Megaflo (electric boiler) to free some space in the bathroom. We guaranteed our client an exceptional service by installing a brand new water piping system and a new electrical system, including wiring and a utility unit. We had our registered, fully licensed electricians working on this new connection to the main line and providing the certifications. We finalized that project by taking care of the heat insulation for all the walls, plastering, painting, decorating and installing the skirting boards. The materials were provided by our best partners - Lords Builders merchants for all the wood, plasterboard, plaster, screws, heat insulation, Velux windows; Victorian plumbing for the bathroom, as bath, sink, and toilet; and Putney glass for mirrors. Project M.

Project M. / 90 sqm - 3 bedrooms house, Lyon, France (Part 1- Kitchen progress) For this project, our path led us to the beautiful town of Lyon, where we had to work in a flat full of character. Our client’s kitchen was dated and needed a good refurbishment. We thankfully had excellent hospitality from our clients, who helped us with the supply of good tools as they understood we had limited capacity to ship tools across. This project required excellent organisation and hard work from our great designer as we worked out everything with distance between us (over the phone, by emails). Everything had to be perfectly done and supplied in time as we had limited time to spend in France. Another part of our team has started a big project in London at the same time, so we couldn’t afford any delays. We started by demolishing the old kitchen, skimming the walls and ceiling, and painting the room with an excellent paint from Farrow and Ball. Then, we cut the concrete walls for new wiring, installing at the same occasion new sockets in new positions for the new kitchen layout and extra appliances. We disconnected the old gas hob; and secured the gas pipe as the new cooker is an induction hob, and modified the plumbing for the new layout. We then fitted the new IKEA kitchen following the perfect design created by our great designers; we also fitted the lights, light switches, and skirting boards. We also had to modify one cabinet to hide the boiler as it couldn’t be moved due to technical constraints. Additionally, we had an extra section of a previous IKEA cupboard set in excellent condition. We kept the carcass and fitted new, matching cabinet doors and worktop to complete the kitchen, and added an extra wiring for an additional socket in that area for full comfort. Project O.

Project O. / 96 sqm - 4 bedrooms house, Clapham (Part 1- Interior) We are delighted to present this fantastic project we did in Clapham, London. We took over a loft conversion/kitchen extension with an important design work. Most of the colours were extremely dark following our client’s request, and we also used a unique tile design for the toilets. Interesting detail, all the doors have different colours inside/outside. Our client wanted to keep the old/authentic feeling of the house, except for the new modern kitchen - successful bet! This high-quality Kesseböhmer kitchen was indeed a special one - it was shipped from abroad to our client. We invite you to appreciate all the fantastic and sleek details! We kept and restored a challenging brick wall section in the kitchen: we completed missing bricks and added mortar to achieve an exact match with the original brick wall - which means we recreated the perfect authentic and warm atmosphere of this room. For this distinctive project, we did all the interior decoration (rooms, staircase, stairs, floor, carpet). We also panelled the wall, fitted the doors and lights, tanked two bathrooms and tiled one of the bathrooms and the toilets. We also fitted one of the bathrooms (shower mixer, etc.) Then, we restored the original wood floors by fixing the missing parts, sanding them up, and applying osmo oil for a perfect finish. We also fitted the utility room - installing the washing machine, the freezer, the worktop, the shelves, etc. Not all of the rooms are shown here - don’t hesitate to request more pictures of our work. We used our fantastic suppliers Lords Builders Merchants for the materials and Leyland for all the paints.
